About the Role – Childcare Cook
As a Childcare Cook, you’ll play a vital role in supporting children’s growth and wellbeing by preparing healthy, nutritious, and appealing meals in an Early Childhood Education and Care setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and serving meals and snacks for children
- Catering for dietary requirements, allergies, and intolerances
- Supporting cultural and individual food needs
- Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards
- Working collaboratively with centre teams
Locations Available
We place Childcare Cooks across a wide range of early learning settings throughout Adelaide, including:
- Adelaide CBD & Central suburbs
- Adelaide Hills
- Northern suburbs
- Eastern suburbs
- Southern suburbs
- Western suburbs
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Experience in a Childcare or Early Childhood setting (desirable)
- Ability to cater for dietary allergies and restrictions
- Awareness of cultural food requirements
- Australian working rights
- HLTAID012 – Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting
Mandatory Qualifications & Checks
To work as a Childcare Cook, you must hold:
- “I Am Alert” or equivalent Food Safety Certification
- Working With Children Check (WWCC)
