At Entrée Early Years Recruitment, we proudly acknowledge National Reconciliation Week 2025 as an important time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements and explore how we can each contribute to reconciliation in Australia.

This year’s theme, “Bridging Now to Next,” invites us to reflect on the journey of reconciliation—where we are today and where we must go next. It encourages meaningful action that strengthens relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians to benefit all children, families, and communities.

What “Bridging Now to Next” Means for Early Childhood

In the early years sector, we have a unique opportunity and responsibility to help shape the next generation’s understanding of respect, equity, and inclusion. The environments we create and the educators we employ play a powerful role in fostering cultural awareness and building respectful relationships from the very beginning.

“Bridging Now to Next” is about acknowledging the steps taken so far while committing to the work still to be done. It’s about:

  • Amplifying First Nations voices in early learning environments.
  • Embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in everyday practice, not just special occasions.
  • Creating culturally safe spaces for children, educators, and families.
  • Building partnerships with community leaders and Elders to bring learning to life.

Our Commitment at Entrée Early Years Recruitment

As a trusted recruitment partner for early childhood centres across Adelaide and beyond, Entrée Early Years Recruitment is committed to:

  • Promoting inclusive hiring practices that support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander educators and staff.
  • Encouraging continuous cultural competence training for early years professionals.
  • We support services in their efforts to meet the National Quality Standard, particularly Standard 6.2—Collaborative partnerships and Standard 5.1—Relationships between educators and children.

We understand that reconciliation is more than a word—it takes action. In our work every day, we are bridging the present with a better, more inclusive future.

How You Can Get Involved

  • Explore Reconciliation Australia’s educational resources and guides.
  • Encourage your early learning centre to host a storytime, art activity, or Acknowledgement of Country with children and families.

Together, we can create learning environments that honour the rich histories and cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and help pave the way for a more just and equitable future.
