As the school holidays approach, many educators will be programming and planning for the upcoming school holiday program.<\/span><\/p>\n

Families will also be thinking about how they will spend quality time with their children.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here are some fun, budget-friendly activities to keep the children engaged during the school holiday break.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nature Scavenger Hunt<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

During the cooler months, it\u2019s tempting to seek out indoor activities. However, on a cool Autumn day, heading outside to explore with a purpose can be so exciting for preschoolers. Just don\u2019t forget jackets and boots! Discuss and make predictions with the children about what they think they might see on the walk to make for an exciting scavenger hunt. Put these ideas into a list and take the list on the walk with mini clipboards and pencils. As you walk, children can tick off everything they see and collect anything that can be used for autumn art upon return.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Natural Material Construction\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Collecting nature items can inspire creativity in many forms. Children may be inspired to execute their ideas by building and creating using various materials. Collecting boxes and recycled cards or paper and combining these with natural materials and glue can provide endless opportunities.
